Requirements
- Prior medical insurance claims experience is a MUST
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
- GED/High School Diploma
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of insurance regulations
- Knowledge of claim submission processes
- Knowledge of medical terminology
Responsibilities
- Coding and processing insurance claims
- Reviewing claims for accuracy and completeness
- Correcting or completing claim forms as needed
- Researching claim issues
- Entering data into the insurance claims processing system
- Following up on outstanding claims to ensure timely reimbursement
- Preparing claims for resubmission or appeal when necessary
- Resolving billing discrepancies
- Working with insurance carriers to obtain claim status updates and payment information
- Utilizing telephone skills and customer service skills to resolve claim issues
