Insurance Coverage Attorney
About The Position
The Chicago office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets insurance contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The attorney will counsel insurers, evaluate coverage issues, draft coverage opinions, and represent insurance companies in state and federal litigation. This includes filing declaratory judgment actions and defending coverage litigation involving allegations of bad faith and other claims.
Requirements
- Three to seven years of experience counseling insurers and litigating coverage and bad faith matters across a broad spectrum of policies and claims.
- Admission to the Illinois Bar.
- Strong research and writing skills.
Responsibilities

- Proactively file declaratory judgment actions.
- Defend coverage litigation involving allegations of bad faith and other claims.
