About The Position

The Garden City, Long Island office of Lewis Brisbois is seeking an attorney to join its Insurance Coverage Practice. The practice interprets contracts and represents insurers in complex coverage claims, including monitoring, mediations, arbitrations, and declaratory relief litigation in state and federal courts throughout the United States. The firm represents primary and excess insurers, reinsurers, third-party administrators, managing general agents, insurance brokers and agents, and independent adjustment companies, across virtually every line of business. The ideal candidate has experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions concerning first-party property and general liability matters. Candidates with substantive litigation experience and a demonstrated interest in insurance law are also encouraged to apply, including developing attorneys with strong skills in another litigation area. The position is based in the firm's Garden City, Long Island office. The posting includes the tag #LI-HYBRID. The stated salary range is $135,000 to $175,000 per year.

Requirements

At least one to seven years of experience analyzing insurance coverage and preparing coverage opinions regarding first-party property and general liability matters.
Litigation experience, including taking depositions, attending court hearings, and drafting and arguing motions.
Strong research and writing skills.
Admission to the New York Bar.
