About The Position

Alpha FMC is seeking motivated individuals for its North America Internship Program, offering an unparalleled platform for rapid career development. Interns will join the New York office for 10 weeks from June to August, working directly with clients and gaining hands-on consulting experience. This involves exposure to senior management teams at major insurers and supporting key internal initiatives. The program includes a three-day 'Alpha Internship Training Program' covering consulting skills, tool-specific training (Excel, PowerPoint), soft skills, 'Management Consulting 101', and an 'Introduction to Insurance'. Interns will work on client engagements with small to medium-sized teams (2-6 consultants), potentially requiring travel across North America (costs covered by Alpha). Engagements focus on technology, strategy, operations, or distribution, welcoming applicants from all academic disciplines. Interns will receive frequent mentoring, a senior colleague's guidance, and an 'Alpha Buddy' for onboarding. Successful interns may receive an offer for a full-time Analyst position after degree completion.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate or non-MBA master's students graduating between September 2027 and June 2028.

  • Leadership experience through academic, professional, extracurricular, athletic, volunteer, or personal pursuits.
  • Available for the duration of the internship: June 14, 2027 – August 20, 2027.
  • Willing and able to work from our NYC office for the duration of the internship, with an expectation of ~3 days per week in-office.
  • Willing to travel as needed for client engagements, workshops, and team events.

Responsibilities

  • Work in teams to identify and implement business and technology solutions for insurers.
  • Collect and analyze data, prepare and test hypotheses, and present recommendations to clients.
  • Follow the project delivery plan and produce accurate, complete, and timely deliverables.
  • Support the creation of client deliverables by assisting in client meetings and workshops, maintaining project plans, performing analysis in Excel, and content creation (PowerPoint).
  • Develop meaningful and successful relationships with clients and vendors by acting as a helpful and respectful point of contact.
  • Contribute to the wider Alpha community by participating in business management or practice areas.
  • Maintain a high-level understanding of the challenges facing the Insurance Industry.
