About The Position

West Monroe is seeking Consulting Interns to join our Insurance Practice. Our Insurance Practice is a growing team focused on business and technology projects to transform brokers and carriers and help them adapt to market demands. We assist our clients by developing operating models and cost optimization strategies, implementing technology platforms, data and analytics tools, exploring opportunities to apply AI and emerging technologies, and supporting the related change management. As an Insurance Consulting Intern, you will gain exposure to tailoring solutions that help our clients gain a competitive advantage in their markets. You will support business and technology executives in addressing key challenges within the financial services industry, contribute to project tasks, and develop foundational consulting skills while learning from one of the best places to work. You may also gain exposure to how AI, automation, and data are being used to improve business processes and enable new ways of working across the insurance industry.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in progress, with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028
  • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States without limitation or sponsorship now or in the future (e.g., OPT, H-1B visa, TN, etc.)
  • Reside within 50 miles of your assigned office prior to your start date; our culture emphasizes team collaboration within a hybrid work model
  • Ability and willingness to travel (up to 50%); travel expenses covered by West Monroe
  • Experience integrating AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) into day-to-day workflows to enhance productivity and insight generation, coupled with strong critical thinking to assess accuracy, mitigate bias, and ensure high-quality outputs

Responsibilities

  • Assist with implementing processes and technology that support business value and process efficiency across business and technical functions
  • Support business owners in creating and improving business processes, including exploring opportunities where data, automation, or AI may support business needs
  • Participate in client workshops to help design future-state business processes and requirements
  • Assist with detailed requirements gathering
  • Contribute to research and analysis related to emerging technologies and AI-enabled capabilities
  • Gain exposure to working with all levels of management, both internally and at client sites
  • Help develop client-ready communications to facilitate decision making, communicate status, and help mitigate risk or resolve issues
  • Assist with project-related deliverables such as project plans, implementation plans, communication plans, and research or analysis supporting technology and AI-enabled transformation efforts
  • Collaborate with engagement management to reduce project risk
  • Work closely with West Monroe colleagues and client teams to quickly establish highly functioning joint project teams
  • Support the business development process by assisting with project approaches and proposals
  • Assist in the development of tools, methodologies, and techniques used by West Monroe in client engagements
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate analysis, synthesize complex information, and support data-driven recommendations for clients, exercising sound judgment in evaluating outputs
  • Apply AI technologies (e.g., generative AI, automation tools, data models) to enhance insights, improve delivery efficiency, and elevate the quality of client outcomes
