About The Position

The Insurance Broker role involves assessing potential client markets, calculating premiums, establishing client insurance coverage and payment methods, and identifying new market opportunities. The broker will ensure all policy requirements are met, monitor claims, and respond to client inquiries. They will provide information on various insurance packages, risk coverage, benefits, and policy features, and sell a wide range of insurance types including automobile, fire, health, life, property, marine, and aircraft.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in the same or a related field
  • Registered Insurance Brokers of Ontario (RIBO) license
  • Experience in insurance, including property/casualty insurance, commercial insurance, individual insurance, and group insurance
  • Familiarity with automobile insurance, fire insurance, house insurance, tenant insurance, and travel insurance products
  • Must be bond-able
  • Able to successfully pass a driving record check (abstract), credit check, and criminal record check
  • Willing to work in an office building setup
  • Willing to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment and under pressure, with strong attention to detail
  • Able to perform work involving sitting as well as a combination of sitting, standing, and walking
  • Demonstrate strong personal suitability including client focus, efficient interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, flexibility, sound judgment, strong organizational skills, reliability, and the ability to work as a team player
  • Able to communicate in English
  • Access to own tools and equipment, including a computer, printer, internet access, and a cellular phone
  • Access to a personal vehicle and a valid driver’s license
  • Willingness to travel
