About The Position

ABA Pathways, LLC is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and self-motivated Insurance Billing Specialist. The role requires prior medical billing experience, with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) billing experience preferred. This is a full-time hybrid position involving both in-office and remote work. The Insurance Billing Specialist reports directly to the Director of Finance and the CEO.

Requirements

• Be organized, efficient, self-motivated, and able to work independently.
• Have meticulous attention to detail.
• Have good communication and customer service skills.
• Be a critical thinker with problem-solving ability.
• Have knowledge of accounting billing systems and general search engine skills.
• Be comfortable with computer-intensive work and know Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Have experience with medical insurance billing.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) billing.

Responsibilities

• Use coded data to produce and submit claims to insurance companies, including Medicaid.
• Work with insurance companies, providers, and patients to get claims processed and paid.
• Communicate clearly with employees, clients, and insurance companies.
• Review and appeal unpaid and denied claims.
• Verify patients’ insurance coverage and act as a liaison between insurance companies and clients.
• Handle collections of unpaid accounts.
• Generate Accounts Receivable reports.
