About The Position

The Insurance Accounting Senior Associate is responsible for monthly closing processes for current and acquired Broker Management and general ledger (G/L) systems within the accounting center. The role prepares and approves journal entries, conducts balance sheet reconciliations and analysis, ensures compliance with GAAP, and follows company policies and procedures. The Senior Associate may also review Staff Accountants’ work.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 3 years of experience in corporate accounting.
• Experience leading others on projects or teams.
• Advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
• High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Demonstrated ability to take initiative and achieve results in a fast-paced, changing environment.
• Some flexibility in work hours and ability to potentially work extra hours during peak periods.

Nice To Haves

• CPA certification or pursuing CPA completion (strongly preferred).
• Insurance experience.

Responsibilities

• Execute month-end closing processes and run reports for Broker Management and G/L systems within the accounting center.
• Complete accurate, compliant balance sheet account reconciliations in accordance with company requirements.
• Identify and clear G/L offsets and supporting source adjustments before deadlines, and follow up on timely clearing of reconciling transactions.
• Review and approve journal entries in Brokerage Management and G/L systems.
• Oversee monthly accrual, true-up, settlement, and bad debt calculations.
• Reconcile inter-agency activity between HUBS.
• May review the work of Staff Accountants.
