This role is part of the construction team, supporting the installation of paint and coatings, and requires providing technical support to supervision while ensuring quality requirements are met. The Construction Coordinator acts as a liaison between JFJV Construction and field engineering, quality, and AWP/WFP teams, serving as the focal point for technical interfaces within the construction team. They ensure construction requirements are communicated and supported by other functions and coordinate with Technical Services and Quality organizations to meet project needs. Responsibilities include work planning, material management, interfacing with design, generating design change requests, securing approvals, and coordinating contracts or subcontractors. The role involves receiving direction from Construction Supervisors/Superintendents and the Construction Manager, acting as the first point of contact for field technical issues, and engaging necessary functions. The Construction Coordinator is responsible for monitoring, inspection, documentation, testing, and acceptance of completed work, working closely with Quality and Technical Services Managers to ensure compliance with project specifications and the Site Quality Manual. They must be qualified to perform quality inspections and sign off on quality records for their assigned discipline. The role also involves coordinating and monitoring contractor activities, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, schedule, cost, and security requirements, evaluating change requests, interfacing with contract administrators, and participating in pre-construction planning, including the development of the Construction Execution Plan and reviewing EPC schedules. A key aspect is playing an active role in developing the project's safety culture.

Requirements

Engineering degree/ Diploma Coating, Specialist, or equivalent technical project experience.
5-10 years of experience in Construction Supervision preferred.
10+ years of progressive Construction experience
Strong interpersonal, listening and communications skills, capacity to build trust among internal and external stakeholders.
Established track record as self-starter.
Demonstrated ability to thrive in high-stress and challenging environments.
Team player – ability to influence without authority and support the success of a team
Must have excellent English verbal and writing language skills.
Strong working knowledge of NACE and TSA construction codes, standards, principals, and procedures.

Nice To Haves

NACE Level 1 Inspector certification preferred
Prior experience working with ceramic fiber, refractory cement, and refractory brick considered an asset.
Prior experience working with Thermal, Acoustic and Cryogenic considered an asset.
Prior experience with Fireproofing for equipment, piping and steel structure considered an asset.
Prior experience working with Thermal Spray Aluminum (TSA) considered an asset.

Responsibilities

Provide technical support to supervision and help satisfy quality requirements on the project.
Serve as the liaison between JFJV Construction and field engineering, quality, and AWP/WFP.
Act as the focal point for technical interfaces in the construction team.
Ensure construction requirements are made known and promptly supported by other functions.
Coordinate with other groups in the technical services and quality organizations to ensure construction delivers requirements.
Provide technical support functions, such as work planning, material management, interfacing with design organizations, generating design change requests, securing appropriate approvals of design changes, and the coordination of one or multiple contracts, subcontractors, or specific areas of JFJV self-performed scope.
Act as the first point of contact for technical issues and interfaces that arise in the field and engage the necessary functions or organizations as required.
Monitor, inspect, document, test, and accept completed work as outlined in the Quality Responsibility Matrix.
Work closely with the Quality Manager and Technical Services Managers to ensure the requirements of the Site Quality Manual/Project Specifications are met.
Perform quality inspections for the assigned discipline and sign-off quality records.
Coordinate and monitor the activities of assigned contractors performing work within the Construction disciplines and ensure compliance with project safety, quality, schedule, cost, and security requirements.
Evaluate change requests and interface with the contract administrator for the initiation and development of contract modifications.
Participate in pre-construction planning efforts during the development phase of projects including development of the Construction Execution Plan, and reviewing and analyzing EPC schedules.
Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project making safety a natural part of all work performed.
