About The Position

Volt is immediately hiring an Instrumentation Technician in San Diego, CA. As an Instrumentation Technician, you will work closely with engineering and test teams to prepare, install, operate, and remove instrumentation used in engine and rig testing. This role involves installing and removing instrumentation on engines and test components, including thermocouples, pressure taps, thermal crystals, and strain gages used to evaluate performance and durability. You will also support modal bench tests and high cycle fatigue testing, perform detailed work on small and sensitive components with accuracy, read and interpret engineering drawings, and collaborate effectively with team members in a fast-paced technical environment. This is a full-time, temp to hire opportunity.

Requirements

Good communication skills
Experience Installing Instrumentation and routing (Pressures and TC's)
Experience with thermal Crystal Installation and Removal
Experience Installing Strain Gages
Experience using complex data acquisition systems
Ability to pass a 7-year criminal background check and drug screen

Responsibilities

Prepare, install, operate, and remove instrumentation used in engine and rig testing.
Install and remove instrumentation on engines and test components.
Install thermocouples, pressure taps, thermal crystals, and strain gages.
Support modal bench tests and high cycle fatigue testing.
Perform detailed work on small and sensitive components with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Read and interpret engineering drawings.
Collaborate effectively with team members and communicate clearly in a fast-paced technical environment.
