This role supports and maintains instrumentation and electrical equipment safely and efficiently in accordance with procedures, policies, processes, and regulatory requirements. The technician will apply their knowledge to set priorities and complete activities with minimal supervision. They will understand, assess, troubleshoot, and refurbish pneumatic and electronic instrumentation, electrical equipment, and analytical applications. The position supports plants in Wilmington, Long Beach, and El Segundo, California. The technician will follow safe work permit processes, policies, and procedures, and provide technical expertise in consultation with engineering and reliability resources. They will create and update accurate instrumentation service reports using a computerized maintenance management system, and calibrate, test, and functionally check instrumentation, analyzers, control systems, and control elements. Additionally, the role involves optimizing work activities related to planned and unplanned equipment outages, assisting in the training and development of new employees, and assessing and resolving priority-based instrumentation and electrical issues. The technician will communicate directly with OEM vendors and suppliers, and understand, diagnose, and correct control loop input/output, including 4-20 mA and 3-15 psi. They will also troubleshoot, diagnose, and correct electrical system issues up to 600V and understand switchgear control systems, functionally racking breakers in and out.
