About The Position

As an instrumentation technician, you will test, calibrate, install, repair, and inspect manufacturing equipment and monitoring devices. You'll also perform general maintenance on the equipment and design new measuring and recording equipment. This role involves the repair and maintenance of electrical and process control systems for a highly automated food processing facility, ensuring it operates in the safest and most productive condition. You will support continuous improvement and reliability of equipment and building systems.

Requirements

  • Ability to troubleshoot 480 systems
  • Ability to program and troubleshoot variable frequency drives
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical blueprints, schematics, P&ID and loop drawings
  • Ability to perform preventive maintenance on instrumentation & electrical equipment
  • Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety
  • Ability to follow all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
  • Ability to execute and document planned and unplanned work via maintenance management system
  • Ability to leverage methodologies like root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Ability to assist in the maintenance of parts inventory
  • Ability to plan maintenance work with operations, contractors, and other plant staff
  • Willingness to perform "Call in" duties as requested by Maintenance supervision
  • Willingness to perform mechanical maintenance work as required depending on the situation
  • Willingness to provide mentorship/training as needed

Responsibilities

  • Repair and maintenance of electrical and process control systems for a highly automated food processing facility, to operate in the safest and most productive condition, supporting continuous improvement and reliability of equipment and building systems
  • Troubleshooting 480 systems
  • Installation, repair, calibration, and maintenance of instrumentation used in process controls, analyzing systems, valves/actuators, and other pneumatically controlled devices
  • Determining causes for malfunctioning instruments and taking appropriate action to improve system reliability
  • Variable frequency drive programming and troubleshooting
  • Reading and interpreting electrical blueprints, schematics, P&ID and loop drawings
  • Performing preventive maintenance on instrumentation & electrical equipment
  • Working as part of a team but would routinely perform work independently and maintain a high level of accuracy and safety, while performing your duties
  • Assisting in the implementation and improvement of effective preventive maintenance programs for equipment and facilities
  • Generating and maintaining written procedures for maintenance tasks
  • Following all applicable good manufacturing practices (GMP's)
  • Executing and documenting planned and unplanned work via maintenance management system
  • Leveraging methodologies like root cause analysis to identify and resolve equipment issues
  • Assisting in the maintenance of parts inventory
  • Planning maintenance work with operations, contractors, and other plant staff
  • Performing "Call in" duties as requested by Maintenance supervision
