Amentum is seeking an Instrumentation Calibration Technician to work in a vehicle emissions testing facility. This facility utilizes numerous testing methods and data acquisition software to support and conduct a variety of Engine, Powertrain, and Durability Tests. The technician will be responsible for the installation, troubleshooting, and repair of emission-related components, building electrical cables, repairing electrical connectors, and modifying electrical breakout boxes. A key responsibility will be calibrating and maintaining emission testing instrumentation, such as smoke meters and opacity meters. The role also involves supporting development and durability special testing and troubleshooting in an engine dynamometer facility, and interfacing with Technologists, Product Engineers, and Supervisors on updates/new test procedures, equipment, and methods. The technician will verify the calibration and maintenance of test equipment and systems, hook up instrumentation, diagnose/troubleshoot problems, conduct tests, change out components, and remove instrumentation as needed. Testing equipment includes Emission benches, fuel flow meters, smoke meters, pressure transducers, torque meters, accelerometers, and thermocouples.
