About The Position

The Boeing Company is looking for an Instrumentation and Data Systems (I&DS) Manager to join our F/A-18 Boeing Test & Evaluation (BT&E) team in Patuxent River, MD. This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The role involves developing and executing project and process plans, implementing policies and procedures, and setting operational goals. It also includes acquiring resources for projects and processes, providing technical management of suppliers, and leading process improvements. The manager will develop and maintain relationships and partnerships with customers, stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports, and provide oversight and approval of technical approaches, products, and processes. Additionally, the role requires managing, developing, and motivating employees, with a need for knowledge of various engineering disciplines such as electrical, mechanical, and systems. The ability to communicate effectively with technical personnel from multiple skill areas and functions to evaluate technical information and issues impacting the design, production, and support of products, services, or other deliverables is crucial. Communication with program leadership using a variety of media to clearly convey information and ideas is also a key aspect of the position.

Requirements

  • Ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship.
  • An interim U.S. Secret Clearance Pre-Start and final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
  • At least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR completion of the Boeing internal course “Exploring Leadership"
  • Experience in a management and/or team lead role in an engineering and/or test environment
  • General knowledge of instrumentation, data systems and data processing
  • Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.62 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

  • Have held an active U.S. Security Clearance in the past 24 months
