Instrument Technician - Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center
About The Position
This position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, identifying manual and/or mechanical cleaning according to the manufacturer's IFU for all general instrumentation. The technician will determine, prepare, and use supplies required in the assembly process. They will identify, inspect, and assemble general instruments, checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets. Packaging and labeling instrumentation, safely operating sterilization equipment, and performing verification and documentation of the sterilization process are also key duties. The role involves performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma) sterilization.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required within 2 years of hire.
