About The Position

This role involves performing a variety of tasks related to the inspection, calibration, testing, and maintenance of instruments and associated sensing devices within an industrial construction environment. The technician will ensure the accuracy and functionality of equipment that measures, indicates, transmits, records, and controls various parameters. This includes working with Fire and Gas Panels, PLCs, DCS, Control Panels, Analyzers, and SIS Systems, as well as pneumatic and motor-operated valves. The position requires the ability to troubleshoot system issues, interpret technical drawings, and maintain accurate records. A strong emphasis is placed on safety, adherence to company policies, and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The role also involves physical work in construction settings, including confined spaces and lifting up to 40lbs.

Requirements

Minimum of 48 months of industrial construction experience.
Ability to read drawings: P&IDs, Details, Location, Schematics, Isometrics, Loops Diagrams, Control and Connection Diagrams.
Proficiency in using test equipment such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, ammeters, voltmeters, and wattmeters.
Physically able to work within a construction environment; including extensive walking, climbing, confined spaces, elevated work areas and lifting of tools and equipment up to 40lbs.

Responsibilities

Adhere to established company policies and procedures, paying special attention to safety regulations.
Inspect, calibrate, and perform pre-commissioning checkouts of instruments and associated sensing devices for Fire and Gas Panels, PLCs, DCS, Control Panels, Analyzers, and SIS Systems.
Adjust and perform pre-commissioning checkouts of pneumatic control valves, valve actuators, motor-operated valves, and associated controls.
Test the accuracy of flowmeters, level meters, pressure sensing devices, temperature indicators, controllers, counters, and detectors.
Troubleshoot to locate incorrect wiring or defective devices using test equipment such as pressure gauges, mercury manometers, potentiometers, pulse and signal generators, oscilloscopes, transistor curve tracers, ammeters, voltmeters, and wattmeters.
Test instrumentation functionality according to manufacturer instructions, specifications, details, datasheets, and drawings.
Read and interpret drawings including P&IDs, Details, Location, Schematics, Isometrics, Loops Diagrams, Control and Connection Diagrams.
Prepare mark-ups (Redlines) of drawings and sketches for Engineering as-built submittal.
Work in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining an orderly and clean work area.
Perform regular maintenance and cleaning of tools, equipment, and instrumentation (both installed and pre-installed).
Prepare and record Calibration Records, QC inspection documents, and Loop Check Records.
Perform installation inspections and Loop Checks with Engineers and Clients as per Installation Testing Procedures (ITPs).
Work within a construction environment, including extensive walking, climbing, confined spaces, elevated work areas, and lifting tools and equipment up to 40lbs.
