The Instrument Technician will work primarily in the field on control, topographic, boundary, and all other surveys as an Instrument Technician of a two or three-person field crew at an assigned worksite. The role involves performing mathematical calculations, checking field data, reading and understanding plans and specifications, and identifying basic sources of measurement errors. The technician will also be responsible for digging to locate survey monuments, holding and plumbing rods for elevations and distances, driving stakes for construction projects, and providing quality customer service. A strong understanding of safe working methods for assigned tools and equipment is essential.
