The Instrument Technician will work primarily in the field on control, topographic, boundary, and all other surveys as an Instrument Technician of a two or three-person field crew at an assigned worksite. The role involves performing mathematical calculations, field checking of data, reading and understanding plans and specifications, and identifying basic sources of measurement errors. Responsibilities include cutting brush for line-of-sight, digging to locate survey monuments, holding and plumbing rods for elevations and distances, and driving stakes for construction projects. The technician must also demonstrate safe working methods for assigned tools and equipment and provide quality customer service.
