About The Position

The Instrument & Controls Designer will develop instrument construction packages and supporting documentation for a refinery in Memphis, Tennessee. The work includes producing panel layout and termination drawings, block diagrams, instrument indexes, specifications, loop diagrams, SIS designs, fiber and cable tray designs and routing, and PLC designs. Drawings will be developed using AutoCAD and administered to contractors according to protocol. The designer will perform field walkdowns and verify existing conditions before design, and participate in and lead drawing package reviews at all levels. The role also interfaces with engineering firms to support external design efforts at the refinery. Additional work includes locating reference drawings, ensuring submitted packages meet design requirements, and ensuring proper submission of final deliverables. This is an onsite, two-year-plus position.

Requirements

At least 8–10 years of experience, including a minimum of 3 years in a refinery or heavy industrial plant environment.
Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Highly motivated and able to work well with other disciplines.
