About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs and Training/Program Manager/Coordinator/Site Support Lead, provide respect, supervision, support and assistance with daily living needs including personal care, learning, and employment opportunities for people with developmental disabilities in a positive environment. This position may be required to work at other locations throughout Solano County as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years old
  • Must possess a valid CA driver’s license, proof of current car insurance, and an acceptable DMV printout for a vehicle you will be required to use during work hours.
  • Must pass pre-placement physical which includes skin T.B. test or chest x-ray, breath alcohol test (BAT), drug screen, and pre-work screen (back evaluation which includes the ability to lift/transfer/push/pull/bend/turn/pivot up to 38 lbs. occasionally and the ability to sustain a forward bend occasionally)
  • DOJ/FBI fingerprint clearance
  • Must pass pre-employment test which includes grammar, spelling, and math (70% or better overall)

Responsibilities

  • Plan and provide classroom curriculum and activities that are based on current objectives and preferences for individuals as assigned.
  • Provide training and support at Pace Solano job sites as assigned by supervisor.
  • Perform job assignments as designated by supervisor and follow daily scheduled as posted.
  • Complete documentation accurately and within approved timelines, e.g., health care plans, special incident reports, daily notes, datasheets, behavior calendars, vocational time sheets, Dailies, task analyses, money ledgers, all transportation requirements, etc.
  • Participate in person-centered program planning, assist with developing and implementing service plans and behavior plans for assigned individuals.
  • Maintain positive communication with individuals who attend program, home providers, supervisors, co-workers, referral agencies and community at large. Disseminate appropriate information to site management.
  • Display professional and respectful attitude towards participants, co-workers, supervisors and assignments.
  • Attend mandatory trainings, staff meetings, and staff trainings that may occur after your typical scheduled work hours.
  • Report all suspected abuse in accordance with Mandated Reporter regulations and procedures.
  • Ability to lift/transfer/push/pull/bend/turn/pivot up to 38 lbs. occasionally while assisting participants including those in wheelchairs as a support in daily program activities and personal care needs.
  • Ability to occasionally sustain a forward bend while assisting participants in assembly tasks, table top activities and eating lunch.
  • Follow agency policies and safety procedures on an ongoing basis.
  • Other related duties as assigned by supervisor.
