Requirements

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree in education from an accredited college or university.
  • Certification in at least one of the following: ESL, TESOL, Elementary Education, Secondary Education or a combination of them.
  • Minimum of three years of work experience teaching in a school or academy in the U.S. or in an American or English School overseas, especially with adults who are multi-cultured students.
  • Must have reliable technology and internet connections to teach remotely.
  • Must have reliable transportation and able to drive to offsite classes and attend meetings throughout the community.
  • Ability to operate and use office and classroom equipment, especially computer, photocopy machine, inner-active overhead projector.
  • Ability to stand and/or sit continuously while teaching.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Integrated Education and Training (IET) models and workforce preparation activities under WIOA Title II preferred.
  • Experience integrating workforce training, career pathways, or contextualized instruction preferred.
  • Experience in teaching long distance learning is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver contextualized ESL and ABE instruction, including High School Equivalency (HSE) preparation, that integrates English language acquisition, workforce preparation, and occupational training as part of Integrated Education and Training (IET) programs.
  • Coordinate with workforce training partners and employers to align instruction with industry-recognized credentials and career pathways.
  • Support students in developing employment readiness skills, including workplace communication, digital literacy, and job search strategies.
  • Assist with program development and implementation of IET initiatives in collaboration with program leadership and community partners.
  • Plan, design and deliver ESL, ABE, IET instruction that incorporates technology and workforce preparation for adult learners.
  • Create and conduct instruction that includes workforce preparation as outlined in WIOA and adult basic education requirements under NDE.
  • Collect and input data including performance outcomes and attendance records.
  • Maintain accurate and complete student records.
  • Assist and conduct, scheduled and walk-in student registration including intake, orientation and assessment.
  • Monitor students’ attendance to ensure post-testing are scheduled and completed in a timely manner.
  • Prioritize work and meet necessary deadlines.
  • Protect all confidential information, company property and electronic data.
  • Comply with safety rules.
  • Other related duties as directed.
