About The Position

The Department of Pharmacology and Experimental Neuroscience at the University of Nebraska Medical Center is seeking candidates for a Research Instructor position. Candidate will have the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art research facility and be part of cutting-edge research focused on the understanding of adverse effects of antiretrovirals (ARVs) and other co-morbidities on fetal neurodevelopment, placenta health, and developing interventional therapeutic strategies to improve developmental outcomes. The position provides a unique opportunity to work at the interface of neurodevelopmental biology, pharmacology, toxicology, and HIV -1-linked virology. The research is focused on identifying underlying mechanisms, evaluating pre- and post-natal neurodevelopment and placental development, and developing novel non-invasive bioimaging tools to study fetal neurodevelopment as well as new drug delivery strategies to improve safety and therapeutic benefits of drugs during pregnancy.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in basic science is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are required.
  • Ability to work as a part of a team.
  • Working knowledge of software include, but not limited to, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe photoshop/illustrator, and GraphPad prism or other statistical analysis software is required.
