About The Position

The School of Social Welfare seeks instructors to teach MSW-level courses, primarily in person, at the Kansas State University Polytechnic Campus. Teaching areas include social work practice, social welfare policy, human growth and behavior, research, race and social justice, and electives aligned with the instructor’s expertise. Courses may use a blended format (half online and half in the classroom) or a traditional classroom format. For the upcoming semester, the school is primarily interested in candidates qualified to teach an MSW-level clinical seminar. The position is part-time, with workload varying by appointment from 0.20 FTE to 1.0 FTE. Applicants will be considered as teaching needs arise, and applications are accepted throughout the year. The position is subject to a collective bargaining agreement between the University of Kansas and United Academics of KU (UAKU), the exclusive representative. The successful applicant must have authorization to work in the United States before employment begins. Because of complex state employment laws, the University may be unable to hire fully remote workers residing outside Kansas, including residents of California, Minnesota, Idaho, and Delaware. A complete application includes an online application, resume, cover letter with a statement of teaching philosophy, and contact information for three references. Review is ongoing throughout the year; the current review period begins November 10, 2026, and continues as needed.
