About The Position

The primary responsibilities of the faculty are to teach and to develop the curriculum. This position will be responsible for creating and delivering learning experiences, employing teaching methods to design and maintain an engaging and effective learning environment, assessing student progress and providing feedback, cultivating a classroom environment that reflects the college’s mission, values, and goals, participating in program and discipline activities related to curriculum development and implementation, contributing to program reviews and strategic planning, engaging in ongoing professional development, effectively integrating relevant educational technology tools into teaching, and participating in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees, supporting institutional goals and initiatives. The instructor will also maintain weekly office hours as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) and perform other related duties as outlined in the CBA.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 8 years’ experience with AWS, ASME and API certifications for select courses.
  • Full-time faculty require all welding certifications.
  • Knowledge of educational pedagogy.
  • Knowledge of Course Management System (i.e. Blackboard).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
  • Knowledge of Discipline-specific technologies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work independently and in a group.
  • Current criminal record/child abuse clearances will be required if offered the position and in order to be employed at the College.

  • Effectively integrate relevant educational technology tools into teaching.
  • Participate in department, division, campus, and college meetings and committees, supporting institutional goals and initiatives.
  • Maintain weekly office hours as required by the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
  • Perform other related duties as outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA).
