About The Position
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking an experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individual to join its Faculty team as a Full-Time Instructor in Surgical Technology. This is a full-time, probationary, tenure-track position for the Fall 2026 semester. The college, founded in 1953 and located in scenic Upstate NY with campuses in Troy and Malta, offers over 80 degree and certificate programs and serves nearly 9,000 students annually. HVCC is a recognized leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and serves a diverse student population. Teaching assignments may include weekend, evening, and online components. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions and appointment is contingent upon a background check. HVCC does not support Visas.
Requirements
- Associates Degree in Surgical Assisting./Surgical Technology from an accredited college or university or a Registered Nurse.
- Possess a credential in the field of surgical technology through a national certification program that is accredited by the National Commission on Certifying Agencies (NCCA).
- A minimum total of two years of experience, either in the operating room scrub role or as an instructor in surgical technology, or a combination of both, within the past five years.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
- Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.

- Previous experience and/or desire to engage in distance learning initiatives is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in Surgical Technology Courses.
- Evaluate Student performance.
- Participation on departmental, division wide, and College wide committee for the purpose of building community.
- At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty contract.
