About The Position

North Greenville University is seeking a full-time teaching position in the Department of Mathematics, starting January 2027. The role involves teaching developmental and introductory math topics, with potential for mid-to-upper-level courses. The position requires a master's degree or higher in mathematics with at least 18 graduate math credits. Classroom teaching experience is preferred. Requirements

• An earned master’s degree or higher in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, or Statistics (18+ credits of graduate math) from an accredited institution.
• Excellent communication skills, especially with young college students.
• The ability to integrate biblical faith in the teaching discipline.
• Demonstrated teamwork and collaborative skills.
• Willingness to teach a combination of developmental and introductory math topics (such as algebra, trigonometry, statistics, or calculus).
• Ability to integrate biblical faith in the teaching discipline is essential.
• Members of the NGU faculty are orthodox Christians who have a strong personal faith in Jesus Christ, are role models in their piety and ethics, maintain active membership in an evangelical congregation, and mentor students academically and spiritually.
• Christian scholars who reflect upon their discipline from the perspective of a biblical worldview and are expected to teach in accordance with, and not advocate contrary to, the university’s Statement on Human Flourishing.

Nice To Haves

• Classroom teaching experience is preferred.
• Interest in teaching a mid-to-upper-level specialty (such as geometry, numerical analysis, or mathematical statistics).
• Willingness to teach occasional online sections is beneficial but not necessary.

Responsibilities

• Cover a full teaching load in the Department of Mathematics.
• Serve on faculty committees as assigned.
• Assist the department and school leadership with curriculum and assessment design.
• Advise math majors as assigned by the math chair.
• Attend and contribute to department meetings and university faculty meetings.
• Assist the department as needed in planning the course offering and schedule.
• Assist with faculty searches including adjunct coverage when necessary.
• Maintain office hours.
• Participate in campus events (e.g. chapel, convocations, graduation, preview days, etc.).
• Develop professionally through appropriate reading and scholarship.
• Intentionally and explicitly integrate the Christian faith with teaching and scholarship.
• Model genuine Christian faith in and beyond the workplace.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the dean and associate dean.
