About The Position

The Department of Ophthalmology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine is seeking applicants for a full time (1.0FTE) Instructor - Optometrist in comprehensive care. The position will provide outpatient medical and perioperative management of ophthalmic disorders, routine eye screening, visual acuity testing, and refraction at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Northern Colorado.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Optometry or equivalent degree
  • Completed an approved residency program in optometry
  • Colorado medical license or be eligible

Nice To Haves

  • Previous work experience in an academic or hospital based healthcare environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for direct patient care at the Medical Center of the Rockies in Loveland, CO
  • Management of medical and perioperative ophthalmic disorders, routine eye screening, visual acuity testing, and refraction
  • Provides pre and postoperative management of cataract and refractive surgery patients.
  • Prescribe and fit contact lenses and eyeglasses.
