About The Position
The Department of Philosophy at The University of Alabama is searching for a philosopher to fill a one-year full-time instructor position with the possibility of renewal, beginning August 16, 2026. The successful candidate will have a specialization in the philosophy of medicine, broadly construed, and teaching competence in logic and critical thinking. Courses to be taught may include Introduction to Philosophy, Critical Thinking, Medical Ethics, Introduction to Ethics, and Philosophy of Medicine.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Philosophy or related fields. Candidates ABD will be considered.
- Evidence of teaching excellence required.
Nice To Haves
- Ph.D. before the start of the Fall 2026 semester strongly preferred.
Responsibilities
