About The Position

San Juan College is expanding its Nursing Program by 50% and is seeking a motivated individual to join as a full-time, nine-month Instructor of Nursing for the ADN Pre-Licensure Program. The role involves equipping students with the necessary knowledge, skills, and confidence for success in nursing. The college is located in Farmington, New Mexico, a region known for its outdoor recreational opportunities and cultural events. San Juan College serves approximately 10,000 students with a commitment to continuous quality improvement and values of Innovation, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Excellence.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited university program required.
  • Must hold current R.N. license issued by the New Mexico Board of Nursing, or in a Compact State, or be eligible for licensure in the State of New Mexico by endorsement.

Nice To Haves

  • BSN who is currently enrolled in graduate coursework may be considered, however Master’s degree would need to be completed within 5 years from date of hire.

Responsibilities

  • Teaching nursing courses
  • Supervising students, including some late afternoon and evening clinical experiences
  • Conducting pre- and post-clinical conferences
  • Evaluating student progress and preparing written evaluations
  • Meeting and advising with students
  • Curriculum planning and revision
  • Attending school and department meetings
  • Participating in college committees
  • Maintaining posted office hours
  • Substituting as needed
  • Performing other tasks as assigned by the program director
