About The Position

The John E. Simon School of Business at Maryville University is seeking a full-time Instructor of Marketing or Management for the 2026-2027 academic year. This campus-based position requires a passionate educator committed to delivering exceptional learning experiences in a collaborative, forward-thinking environment. The role involves teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, mentoring students, contributing to academic leadership and program development, and engaging with the business community.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration (MBA), or a closely related field.
  • Demonstrated ability to teach and mentor students at the undergraduate and/or graduate level.
  • Commitment to student success and excellence in teaching.
  • Ability to work on campus and actively engage in face-to-face instruction and service activities.

Nice To Haves

  • PhD or DBA in Marketing, Management, or a closely related field.
  • Professional experience in marketing, management, or a related business discipline.
  • Experience utilizing innovative teaching strategies and technology-enhanced learning environments.
  • Demonstrated engagement with industry, community partnerships, or experiential learning initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Marketing or Management, including discipline-related electives.
  • Create engaging, student-centered learning experiences that connect theory to practice.
  • Leverage technology and innovative instructional methods to enhance student learning.
  • Advise and mentor students on academic progress, career development, and professional goals.
  • Support student research, experiential learning opportunities, and career readiness.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, assessment, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Participate in integrating emerging technologies and best practices into business education.
  • Collaborate with faculty colleagues to strengthen academic programs and student outcomes.
  • Participate in service activities that support the School of Business, the University, and the broader profession.
  • Build relationships with business and industry partners to expand internship, networking, and experiential learning opportunities.
  • Serve as a key liaison and resource for adjunct faculty, helping foster engagement and collaboration.
