This includes promoting diversity and inclusive practices in programming, instruction, and recruitment. Concordia College is NASM accredited, and the Music Department enjoys a thriving and growing student population with nearly 200 music majors (music education, performance, and composition), due in part to its excellent reputation throughout the region. Many graduates pursue careers in music education, where the post-graduation employment rate is extremely high, while others pursue graduate degrees at leading national institutions and/or careers in performing or creative activity. The instrumental music program includes three concert bands, two orchestras, three jazz bands and a combo, chamber ensembles, and a number of other opportunities for students to engage with music as part of their undergraduate experience. In addition to Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Music degrees, the department also offers a Master of Music in Music Education. Concordia College is a private, co-educational, baccalaureate liberal arts college of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America that prepares its students to become responsible leaders in the global society. It is located in the Moorhead (MN)/Fargo (ND) area, a growing metropolitan area of 235,000, consistently ranked among the nation’s most livable cities.
