About The Position

Louisiana State University of Alexandria (LSUA) invites applications for a full-time Instructor of Biology position. This is a nine-month, non-remote position. The selected candidate will primarily teach Human Anatomy and Physiology courses, general education biology courses for non-science majors, and other courses as departmental needs arise. The instructor will support student success through effective teaching, course development, advising, and service to the department and university.

Requirements

Graduate degree with at least 18 graduate credit hours in Human Anatomy and Physiology or a related biological science field.
Teaching experience, preferably at the undergraduate level in biology.
Demonstrated ability to effectively teach and engage students from diverse backgrounds.
Experience using learning management systems and instructional technologies.
Commitment to teaching excellence and student success.
Strong oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

Teach undergraduate courses in Human Anatomy and Physiology and general biology in face-to-face and online formats.
Teach general education biology courses for non-majors.
Develop and deliver lectures, laboratory activities, assignments, and assessments.
Develop online biology courses in collaboration with LSU Online as needed.
Develop syllabi and instructional materials aligned with course objectives.
Evaluate student performance through assignments, examinations, and other assessment methods.
Provide support to students through office hours, tutoring, advising, and communication.
Collaborate with colleagues to enhance curriculum and instructional quality.
Participate in departmental meetings, committees, and service activities.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
