About The Position

High Point University invites applications for an Instructor of Biology with an expected start date of August 2026. This is a non-tenure track, renewable position. The Biology Department offers majors and minors in Biology and serves the University more broadly by providing courses for the general education and honors curricula. Biology courses serve as foundational elements of applied and health science degrees at High Point University. Requirements

• A M.S. in Biology or a closely related field is required
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching excellence

Nice To Haves

• A Ph.D. in biology or a closely related field is preferred
• ABD would be considered

Responsibilities

• Teaching nonmajors courses (such as environmental science and human biology)
• Teaching introductory and advanced biology courses for majors
• Developing an upper-level elective course in your area of expertise
• Advising biology majors
• Service to the department, school, and university
