About The Position

Western Nevada College is expanding its Nursing Program to serve communities throughout its service region and updating its curriculum to respond to changes in healthcare and education. The Instructor, Nursing will help shape and deliver nursing education, supporting instruction at multiple sites, including rural locations, and contributing to curriculum development and adaptation. Teaching assignments, modalities, and primary work locations depend on program needs and may change. The position provides leadership in medical/surgical nursing instruction in classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings; collaborates with other nursing faculty; and supports traditional, non-traditional, and web-based instruction, including simulation learning. Clinical and laboratory supervision may take place during days, evenings, nights, and weekends in Carson City, Reno, and rural sites as assigned. The position also involves faculty and college meetings, professional development, community service, program review, and academic assessment. The minimum starting salary is $67,812. Placement is at or above the minimum based on academic preparation and related professional experience. Faculty and professional staff working at least half-time equivalent must participate in the NSHE Faculty Retirement Plan Alternative, subject to the stated plan terms; some employees with prior PERS participation may be required to continue in PERS.
