About The Position
Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join its Faculty team. This full-time probationary position is for the Spring 2027 semester in the Department of Computer Sciences and Mathematics. Teaching assignments may include weekend, evening, and online. Requirements
- Master’s Degree in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or in an appropriate related field to Mathematics from an accredited college or university.
- Other Master’s Degrees considered if at least 15 credits in graduate level Mathematics courses have been completed.
- Willingness and ability to teach a variety of courses at various levels of Mathematics.
- Daytime on-campus availability necessary - may include evening courses.
- Must currently hold an unrestricted employment authorization to work in the United States.
- Appointment will be contingent upon completion of a background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous teaching experience preferred.
- Current SUNY students, alumni, and/or Fellows.
- From a low-income background (e.g., Pell-eligible as undergraduates), were first-generation college students (students whose parents have not earned a bachelor’s degree), have overcome adversity, are AmeriCorps alumni, or are veterans.
Responsibilities
- Provide instruction in Mathematics.
- Evaluate student performance.
- Participation on departmental, division wide, and college wide committees for the purpose of building community and fulfilling aspirations of professional development is encouraged and supported.
- At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
- This role involves teaching courses that may be assigned at the HVCC main campus and/or the Malta campus.
