About The Position

Bucks County Community College invites applications for a Special Term Contract, Full-Time Instructor - Instructional Design position for the 2026–2027 academic year. The Instructional Designer partners with faculty and academic departments to design, develop, and continuously improve high-quality learning experiences across online, hybrid, remote, and face-to-face instructional modalities. This position supports instructional excellence through evidence-based course design, accessibility compliance, instructional technology integration, and data-informed continuous improvement practices. The Instructional Designer collaborates closely with faculty, Bucks Online, the Center for Teaching and Learning, and other campus partners to promote student engagement, equitable access, and instructional quality aligned with institutional goals and regulatory standards. The successful candidate will be expected to teach across multiple instructional modalities, including in-person, online, and hybrid formats.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or related field.
  • Experience working in a community college or higher education environment.
  • Familiarity with accessibility evaluation tools and quality assurance frameworks such as OSCQR, Quality Matters, or similar standards.
  • Experience facilitating faculty training or professional development workshops.

Responsibilities

  • Partner with faculty to design, develop, revise, and enhance courses across instructional modalities using evidence-based instructional design practices and learning science principles.
  • Ensure course materials and learning environments align with institutional quality standards related to accessibility, Regular and Substantive Interaction (RSI), student engagement, and online learning best practices.
  • Support compliance with ADA Title II and Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 AA through accessible course design, remediation guidance, and instructional support.
  • Integrate and support instructional technologies to enhance teaching and learning experiences.
  • Provide consultation, training, and individualized support to faculty related to course organization, instructional strategies, student engagement techniques, and technology integration.
  • Utilize LMS (Canvas) analytics, course data, and student performance indicators to support data-informed course improvements and student success initiatives.
  • Contribute to course quality review processes, peer review frameworks, and institutional instructional quality initiatives.
  • Collaborate with academic and support departments to develop scalable instructional resources, templates, guides, and faculty support materials.
  • Remain current with emerging trends, technologies, accessibility requirements, and best practices in instructional design and higher education.
