About The Position

Under limited supervision, the Industrial Management Technology Instructor serves as a full-time faculty member in the Engineering & Industrial Technologies Department. This position is responsible for delivering instruction, and supporting curriculum development, with leadership in areas such as CAD, prototyping, and laboratory environments. The instructor collaborates with faculty, staff, and industry partners to support student success and program effectiveness.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in Engineering or Industrial Technologies, or closely related field
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant experience in prototyping, computer-aided design (CAD), quality control, and technical or industrial environments that demonstrate leadership or coordination responsibilities
  • An equivalent combination of training and/or knowledge that provides the required knowledge, skills and abilities may be considered.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience teaching in a community college or technical education environment
  • Experience with learning management systems (e.g., Moodle)
  • Industry experience in manufacturing, design, or industrial systems
  • Experience coordinating programs, projects, or technical teams

Responsibilities

  • Represent the department in college committees, industry partnerships, and professional organizations.
  • Teach courses in Engineering & Industrial Technologies in face-to-face, hybrid, and online formats.
  • Develop and maintain course materials including syllabi, lesson plans, assessments, and online content.
  • Evaluate student performance and maintain accurate academic records.
  • Advise students on academic progress, course selection, and career pathways; evaluate transcripts and placement.
  • Coordinate day-to-day program operations in support of departmental goals and initiatives.
  • Assist with course scheduling and program planning.
  • Support the development, revision, and continuous improvement of curriculum, incorporating emerging technologies and industry practices.
  • Coordinate the use, maintenance, and instructional integration of CAD software and related technologies.
  • Support prototyping, design, and development of instructional projects and laboratory activities.
  • Assist in maintaining laboratory operations, including equipment installation, inventory, and safety practices.
  • Support quality control and process improvement concepts within instructional and lab environments.
  • Assist with procurement of laboratory supplies, equipment, and instructional resources.
  • Support the selection and review of textbooks, software, and instructional materials.
  • Maintain program-related records, reports, and documentation.
  • Support program marketing, recruitment, and outreach initiatives.
  • Participate in departmental meetings and professional development activities.
