About The Position

Brock University is seeking an Instructor for the course IADM 1F02 Being Human in a Digital World ASYNC, for the Sep-Apr 2027 academic term. This position involves scheduled contact time with students and non-classroom responsibilities such as lecture preparation, student consultation, marking and grading, and course administration. The compensation for this role is effective September 1, 2026, with a rate of $7,887.59 per half course (195 hours nominally) and $15,775.20 per full course (390 hours nominally). Instructors teaching a 2-hour/week lecture or equivalent are responsible for the first hour of seminar/lab in each course.

Requirements

  • MA or PhD in a Humanities or Social Science discipline with a focus on the social implications of digital technology (or senior doctoral candidates if no qualified applicants)
  • Experience in teaching effectiveness in large enrolment online course(s) (e.g., through course evaluations and/or academic references)
  • Familiarity with the features of an online learning management system
  • Evidence of effective course leadership (e.g., working with course coordinators and/or TAs)
