About The Position
The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking part-time instructors to teach Geology (GEOL), Environmental Science (ENV), Geography (GEOG), and Natural Resource Science (NRES) courses. The primary teaching format will be on-ground, with potential opportunities for online instruction. Teaching assignments will include college-level courses in these disciplines, based on departmental needs.
Requirements
- For Lab Instructor: Bachelor in the teaching field or a cognate discipline from a regionally accredited College or University.
- For Lecture Instructor: Master of Science or PhD in the teaching field or a cognate discipline from a regionally accredited College or University (with a minimum 18 graduate units in the discipline).
- Ability to use educational technology, such as Word, PowerPoint and Canvas LMS (learning management system).
- Ability and willingness to use campus email for all official communication.

- Experience working with a diverse/multicultural student body and/or workforce.
Responsibilities
- Teach college-level courses in the field.
- Develop syllabi and course materials.
- Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
- Provide an excellent teaching experience as well as student advisement, recruitment activities and program/curriculum development.
- Teach at multiple campuses in Clark County.
- Be available to teach day, evening and/or weekend courses.
Benefits
- Salary: $925.00 per credit hour.
