About The Position

Hudson Valley Community College (HVCC) is seeking experienced, dynamic, capable, creative, and caring individuals to join their team. Founded in 1953 and located in scenic Upstate NY, HVCC offers over 80 degree and certificate programs across three schools: Business and Liberal Arts; Health Sciences; and Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM). As part of the State University of New York (SUNY) system, HVCC serves nearly 9,000 students annually and is a leader in career and transfer preparation, workforce training, distance learning, and serving a diverse student population. With over 80,000 alumni and nearly 1,000 employees, the college is a catalyst for educational opportunity and economic development in New York State's Capital Region. This full-time, tenure-track position is for the Fall 2026 semester at the Troy, New York campus. Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, and appointment is contingent upon a physical and background check. HVCC does not sponsor visas.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of previous teaching experience.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to complete a physical and background check.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s Degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university.
  • Professional Engineering License.
  • Demonstrated teacher effectiveness across multiple modalities in higher education.
  • Experience using D2L Brightspace.

Responsibilities

  • Provide classroom instruction in Engineering Science and Engineering Technology.
  • Evaluate student performance and complete assessments as required by the College.
  • Collaborate with colleagues on course and program development as well as transfer course review.
  • Participate in departmental, division wide, and/or college wide committees.
  • At the direction of the Department Chairperson, faculty shall perform duties as specified in the Faculty Contract.
  • Ability to teach a class at Malta campus.
