About The Position

The Instructor, Certified Nurse Assistant (RN) provides academic and career technical trade instruction according to approved curricula at the New Orleans Point Job Corps Center. The instructor provides training, basic guidance, and direction to help students achieve their academic and trade goals. The role also includes coordinating with staff to address issues affecting student training and reviewing assigned areas for contractual compliance and effective service delivery.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent and a certificate in the area of instruction.
Active registered nurse (RN) license in Louisiana.
Two years of related work experience.
Experience instructing or supervising in a professional environment.
Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.

Responsibilities

Provide career technical training instruction, direction, and assistance in designated instructional areas.
Use the designated Learning Management System, such as Blackboard, to post instructional materials, facilitate assignments and assessments, and monitor student progress.
Motivate and counsel students on behavior, training, personal problems, and study habits; coordinate with other staff as needed to resolve issues affecting training.
Develop and prepare lessons, and recommend curriculum changes and supplemental materials.
Use workplace language and behavior expectations in the shop and classroom, and routinely ask students whether they need assistance.
Regularly review and audit assigned areas for contractual compliance and effective service delivery, and prepare related reports.
Participate in student evaluation panels; prepare required documentation and evaluations using CIS and other documentation systems; and enter case notes into CIS according to established timelines.
