About The Position

The College of Southern Nevada (CSN) is seeking a tenure-track Instructor for Business/Management to join the Business Administration Department. Founded in 1971, CSN is the most ethnically diverse college in Nevada and is designated as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI) and an Asian American and Native American Pacific Islander Serving Institution (AANAPISI). CSN offers hundreds of degrees and certificates and is committed to providing an affordable, collaborative, and welcoming environment for its diverse student body. This role involves teaching business and management courses, developing syllabi and course materials for various instructional platforms (on-ground, online, hybrid), and contributing to program development. The position may involve multi-campus assignments with potential for day, evening, and/or weekend classes.

Requirements

  • Juris Doctor/JD degree in Law from an accredited American Bar Association (ABA) college/university law school or an LLM/Master of Laws from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Program (ACBSP). In addition, thereto master’s degree in business from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) with 3 years work in business related fields AND/OR civil law.
  • Master's degree in Business Administration from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) OR Master’s degree in Business from a regionally accredited college/university by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) or Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP) With 5 years work experience in a related field.
  • Proficient experience teaching community college/undergraduate business AND/OR business law courses or alternatively, a minimum of 1-year part-time community college/undergraduate proficient teaching experience.
  • Traditional, online, or hybrid instructional platform experience.
  • Employment or Teaching experience in Business Law.
  • Knowledge and ability to work with a diverse student population as found at CSN.

Responsibilities

  • Teach business and management courses within the Business Administration Department.
  • Courses the candidates may be required to teach include, but are not limited to: Introduction to Business, Principles of Management, Small Business Management, and Leadership and Human Relations.
  • Provide an excellent teaching experience to a diverse student body using effective teaching strategies.
  • Develop syllabi and course materials that may be taught on-ground, online, or hybrid.
  • Develop and improve current and future CSN Business/Management programs.
  • Evaluate student mastery of skills and competencies required by course outcomes.
  • Participate in department/school meetings and activities.
  • Serve on department, accreditation, and college-wide committees.
  • Participate in appropriate professional development activities with an emphasis in business and management.
  • Assignments may be multi-campus with the possibility of day, evening and/or weekend classes.
