About The Position

To provide assistance to facilitators and classroom teachers with small groups and assist teachers/students with the effective integration of educational technology to improve instruction and academic achievement. This is a full-time position with a salary based on a nine and one-half (9.50) month teacher contract (195 days). Precise placement on the salary range will be determined based upon experience and education. The role is Exempt (FLSA).

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (minimum).
  • Valid Arkansas teacher certification.
  • K-5 classroom teaching experience with the ability to effectively differentiate instructional and behavior management strategies for all grade levels.
  • Successful background experiences in designing and delivering innovative technology lessons that are aligned with both the ISTE standards and AR Computer Science Standards for K-5.
  • Successful experiences in planning and delivering educational technology professional development.
  • Successful experience in working with both adults and students.
  • Experiences in demonstrating exemplary classroom instructional practice for the purpose of effective best practices to improve student achievement results and close achievement gaps.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office Suite, G-Suite (formerly known as GAFE), SMART Technologies, multiple platforms, OER (Open Educational Resources) and e-School applications.
  • Experience in troubleshooting user end issues with multiple operating systems: iOS, Windows, and Chrome.
  • Demonstrates ongoing professional development in the realm of educational technology to include seeking additional training, researching emerging technologies, following educational technology trends, and/or participation in professional organizations/networks related to educational technology.
  • Evidence of a strong commitment to quality desegregated education.
  • Ability to maintain cooperative working relationships, demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for a diverse population, ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities, and excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts teacher in service sessions on the use and integration of educational technology during the school day and after school.
  • Collaborates with teachers and facilitators in planning and the implementation of instruction related to differentiating instruction and providing interventions as needed while adhering to the district curriculum map.
  • Coordinates with principal to plan, implement training, and support the integration of educational technology that aligns with the district curriculum.
  • Assists students to provide a continuum of support by using assessment data to guide the learning process toward student achievement of the district’s content standards using a variety of manipulatives, technology, and hands-on activities to support individual and/or small group needs.
  • Provides students with the digital math and literacy skills that they need to develop college/career readiness, prepare for online testing, etc., without sacrificing classroom instruction.
  • Assists in planning and implementing upgrades and expansions of current district software such as e-School and other approved district software.
  • Provides support for teachers using educational software to fully implement the literacy and mathematics curriculum, and models the integration of technology for teachers.
  • Conducts student assessments to identify those eligible for intervention services on a regular basis and provides progress reports as required to plan instruction, and/or assist teachers in learning various assessment techniques.
  • Regularly analyzes data, create documents, and monitors student progress to provide support for teachers, and maintains a variety of electronic files and/or records (e.g. Test data, student records, and other data regarding proficiency) for the purpose of determining student needs, in order present to staff to monitor and drive further instruction.
  • Assist in overseeing online testing administration.
  • Responsible for troubleshooting minor device and application problems, and explores and investigates emerging technologies.
  • Oversees operation of Educational Technology learning lab plus computers in all classrooms.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
