About The Position

The Instructional Technology Curriculum Leader provides the central curriculum department staff with assistance in the development and implementation of web-based curricula and technology initiatives. Requirements

  • Possess or qualify for immediate issuance of a valid Washington State teaching certificate.
  • Minimum of three years teaching experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of the web-based Bellevue School District common curriculum.
  • Knowledge of Bellevue School District's curriculum and instructional practices such as teacher-directed instruction, literature-based reading, problem-based learning, math problem-solving and use of math manipulatives, cooperative learning, and integrated curriculum.
  • Ability to work with and lead a diverse group of adults for the purposes of promoting curriculum and technology implementation.
  • Eagerness to learn new technology.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to equity through culturally relevant teaching practices through the design and implementation of instruction and high expectations for all students.
  • Provides high quality instruction through knowledge of differentiated instructional practices and data-driven instructional decision-making.
  • Ability and skills necessary to individualize instruction.
  • Commitment and ability to work with a full range of students including gifted, mainstreamed special education, English language learners, and students from diverse cultural and social backgrounds.
  • Ability to develop students’ technology literacy.
  • Ability to work in a collaborative or team approach.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, professionally, collaboratively and positively with students, parents, and colleagues, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to work with students in multi-aged groups.

Responsibilities

  • Provide the central curriculum department staff with assistance in the development and implementation of web based curricula and technology initiatives.
  • Work in collaboration with the school principal to plan and facilitate professional development around data, district initiatives, RtI, differentiation and school-based goals through the use of technology.
  • In collaboration with other leaders, plan and facilitate professional development related to web-based curriculum and technology initiatives centrally, including summer institute.
  • Attend district instructional technology curriculum meetings to learn district-wide initiatives and disseminate information back to their school.
  • Attend grade level team meetings to share data and technology initiatives.
  • Use data to inform instructional strategies and curriculum improvement.
  • Coordinate and implement web-based assessments (attend and provide trainings, create schedules, oversee implementation, etc.).
  • Provide support to teachers and model lessons through the use of data and technology.
  • Research and remain abreast of district curriculum/technology/data issues, programs and needs, and of state and national trends.
  • Collect and analyze student data (e.g., MAP, MSP, Common Assessment, Dibels, etc.).
  • Assist with the development and implementation of curriculum, technology resources, and other appropriate accommodations that address special needs student, e.g., gifted, ELL, special education.
  • Direct the activities of assigned non-certificated personnel.
  • Attend or participate in all required staff meetings and other activities deemed necessary by the District and/or building principal, in order to accomplish the objectives of the position and for professional development.
  • Participate in site-based decision-making processes.
