About The Position

Develop, evaluate, and implement innovative instructional materials and learning solutions for the MarineNet eLearning environment and Learning Management Systems (LMS). Apply expertise in instructional design principles and educational technology to create engaging content for instructor-led, synchronous, and asynchronous course delivery. Review course content, assessments, and electronic delivery tools to ensure compliance with College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) policies and procedures, as well as government standards. Track and resolve issues and maintain effective communication with stakeholders such as SMEs, training managers, and course directors. Work independently to design, develop, and deliver training materials while collaborating with cross-functional teams to support operational excellence.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in instructional design and course development, including with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or eLearning platforms
  • Experience with instructional design principles for instructor-led, synchronous, and asynchronous course delivery
  • Experience developing training materials, leading live instruction or demonstrations, and providing guidance on educational technology platforms
  • Experience electronically tracking and documenting issues, maintaining secure files, and managing stakeholder communications effectively
  • Knowledge of College of Distance Education and Training (CDET) policies and procedures for MarineNet eLearning environments
  • Ability to review course content and assessments for electronic delivery via government tools and systems
  • Secret clearance
  • Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Systems Design or Educational Technology

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with user testing methodologies and improving eLearning system functionality
  • Experience presenting solutions, training, and system updates to stakeholders such as SMEs, Academics Officers, and Course Directors
  • Experience with MarineNet-related policies and procedures to ensure compliance
  • Experience working with Marine Corps educational policies, programs, or similar military training structures
  • Ability to handle service support requests, resolve stakeholder concerns, and maintain professionalism during interactions
  • Ability to identify and implement solutions for technical and course-related system issues
  • Possession of excellent problem-solving skills
  • Master’s degree in Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, or a related field
  • Instructional Design Certifications such as CPTD or ATD Certification
  • eLearning Authoring Tools Certifications such as Captivate or Articulate Storyline Certification
