About The Position

The Department of Mechanical Engineering at CSU Fullerton invites applications for its Instructional Student Assistant Pool. This pool is for current CSUF undergraduate and graduate students in the Mechanical Engineering department to work with individual faculty for grading, tutoring, research, or instructional activities. Appointments from this pool are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term. Applicants may be offered employment on very short notice. An Instructional Student Assistant is a CSUF graduate or undergraduate student who is appointed at an hourly rate to assist with grading, tutoring, research, or instructional activities under the direct supervision of an appropriate faculty member. Normal grading assignments vary from 1 to 12 hours a week. Students may work no more than a total of 20 hours per week.

Requirements

  • Student must have completed related courses such as EGCE 201, EGCE 202, EGME 304, and EGME 331 with a grade of B or better
  • Current student at CSUF and is enrolled/registered (fees paid) in at least 6 units in a current regular semester as a new or continuing student.
  • Student who has completed the prior semester (has not graduated), or who is registered for the subsequent semester.
  • In good academic standing (not on academic notice or academic dismissal).
  • Student who is authorized to work in the United States and can provide eligibility documents.
  • A complete online application must be submitted.

  • Provide Titan Degree Audit (Undergraduate Student) or Unofficial Transcript (Graduate Student)
  • Provide Student Class Schedule
  • Comply with the requirements set forth in CSU Executive Order 1083, revised July 21, 2017, as a condition of employment.
  • Disclose whether they have received a final administrative decision or final judicial decision determining that they have committed sexual harassment within the last 7 years only after a determination is made that they meet the minimum qualifications for the position, and before an offer of employment is extended.
  • Sign a release form that authorizes the release of information by the applicant’s current and/or former employers to the CSU concerning any substantiated allegations of misconduct.
