About The Position

East Central University's Linscheid Library is seeking an Instructional Services Librarian for a 12-month, non-tenure track position. This role offers a wide range of professional experiences in a collaborative atmosphere, encouraging creativity and enthusiasm to promote the library's instructional program. The position oversees instructional and reference programs with a focus on continuous improvement and customer service, plans and assesses the library's information literacy plan, and manages reference schedules. It also involves coordinating the library's involvement with Freshman Seminar, overseeing LibGuides maintenance, and instructing students in library use and research skills. The librarian will serve as a liaison to academic departments, collaborating with faculty on research, collection development, and curriculum development. The role requires staying updated on emerging trends, leading and serving on committees, and supervising one full-time staff member.

Responsibilities

Oversees instructional and reference programs with a focus on continuous improvement and strong customer service.
Plans, implements, and assesses the library’s information literacy plan.
Oversees the development and maintenance of the reference schedules.
Develops, schedules, and coordinates the library’s involvement with Freshman Seminar.
Oversees LibGuides Maintenance and Standards Compliance Review.
Instructs students in library use and research skills in the classroom and at the Reference Desk.
Serves as liaison to several academic departments, collaborating with faculty on research, collection development, information literacy curriculum development, and special projects.
Remains up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices.
Leads and serves on library and university committees.
Supervises one full-time staff member.
