About The Position

East Central University's Linscheid Library is seeking an Instructional Services Librarian for a 12-month, non-tenure track position. This role offers valuable professional experiences in a collaborative atmosphere, focusing on promoting the library's instructional program. The librarian will oversee instructional and reference programs, implement and assess the information literacy plan, manage reference schedules, and coordinate the library's involvement with Freshman Seminar. Responsibilities also include overseeing LibGuides, instructing students in library use and research skills, serving as a liaison to academic departments, staying current with emerging trends, and leading/serving on committees. The position also supervises one full-time staff member.

Responsibilities

Oversees instructional and reference programs with a focus on continuous improvement and strong customer service.
Plans, implements, and assesses the library’s information literacy plan.
Oversees the development and maintenance of the reference schedules.
Develops, schedules, and coordinates the library’s involvement with Freshman Seminar.
Oversees LibGuides Maintenance and Standards Compliance Review.
Instructs students in library use and research skills in the classroom and at the Reference Desk.
Serves as liaison to several academic departments, collaborating with faculty on research, collection development, information literacy curriculum development, and special projects.
Remains up-to-date on emerging trends and best practices.
Leads and serves on library and university committees.
Supervises one full-time staff member.
