About The Position

The Instructional Designer within ASU’s Learning Enterprise Learning Design team designs and develops innovative, scalable learning experiences that support a diverse population of learners across career advancement, workforce development, and academic pathways. Instructional Designers collaborate with faculty, subject matter experts, product teams, and industry partners to design high-quality learning experiences delivered through a variety of platforms and modalities including online asynchronous and synchronous immersion classes. These offerings may include Universal Learner Courses, Career and Professional Learning programs, executive education, and other learning innovations that expand access to education and career opportunity. In this role, the Instructional Designer applies evidence-based learning science, modern pedagogical practices, and emerging educational technologies to design engaging and effective learning experiences. Designers are expected to leverage tools such as Canvas and modern authoring platforms, while also integrating artificial intelligence (AI) and automation tools into the course design and development process in ways that enhance learner experience and instructional efficiency. Instructional Designers are assigned to projects across the Learning Design portfolio and work collaboratively within cross-functional teams to design, develop, launch, and continuously improve learning experiences at scale. The successful candidate will design courses for asynchronous online learners and synchronous immersion learners and contribute to the ongoing improvement of design frameworks, templates, and processes. Designers will also use learner data, engagement metrics, and feedback to inform course revisions and continuous improvement. This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. This is an at-will position. As an at-will employee, you and ASU are entitled to terminate the employment relationship at any time and for any reason except an unlawful one. This position is subject to grant funding or other special funding and the position may terminate when funding is no longer available. This role is not fully remote.
