About The Position

Reporting to the Design and Content Management Team Manager, the Human Skills Instructional Designer designs, develops, and maintains learning solutions that support the Human Skills curriculum, Leadership Edge portfolio, and manager development programs. The role leverages learning technologies and AI-enabled tools to create engaging and accessible learning experiences that promote skill development and behavior change.

The Instructional Designer collaborates with stakeholders, facilitators, content managers, project managers, and subject matter experts to translate business needs into effective learning solutions. The role requires knowledge of adult learning principles, virtual and classroom facilitation design, eLearning development, learning technologies, and emerging AI capabilities.

Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in instructional design, learning experience design, curriculum development, or corporate learning.
• Strong knowledge of adult learning theory, instructional design methodologies, and learner-centered design principles.
• Experience designing instructor-led, virtual instructor-led, and self-paced digital learning solutions.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications, including PowerPoint, Word, Teams, Excel, and SharePoint.
• Competence using Microsoft Copilot, LLM Suite, generative AI tools, and other AI-enabled content development technologies responsibly and effectively.
• Strong writing, editing, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex concepts into clear and engaging learning experiences.
• Experience creating storyboards, facilitator materials, learner guides, assessments, and performance support tools.
• Project management and organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Creative problem-solving skills and comfort working with ambiguity and evolving business needs.

• Bachelor’s degree in Instructional Design, Learning and Development, Education, Organizational Development, Human Resources, Communications, Psychology, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop instructor-led training, virtual instructor-led training, eLearning, performance support resources, facilitator guides, participant materials, and manager toolkits.
• Apply instructional design methodologies and adult learning principles to create engaging, learner-centered experiences.
• Partner with stakeholders and subject matter experts to conduct needs analysis, define learning objectives, and develop solutions aligned with business goals.
• Manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Create design outlines, storyboards, learning activities, practice exercises, scenarios, simulations, and assessments.
• Design learning experiences supporting Human Skills development, including communication, judgment, collaboration, accountability, adaptability, emotional intelligence, and leadership effectiveness.
• Use Microsoft Copilot, LLM Suite, AI-enabled development platforms, and other emerging technologies to enhance learning design, content development, and learner engagement.
• Develop and maintain eLearning content using approved enterprise learning technologies and authoring platforms.
• Ensure solutions meet accessibility, usability, branding, and quality standards.
• Analyze learner feedback and performance data to continuously improve learning experiences.
• Partner with internal teams and multimedia resources to develop videos, graphics, digital assets, and interactive learning experiences.
• Review learning assets for quality and ensure consistency across the curriculum portfolio.
• Stay current on instructional design best practices, learning technologies, AI trends, and emerging workplace learning approaches.
